Since the inaugural issue published in July 2001, ForestAction Nepal is continually publishing its English Journal of Forest and Livelihood biannually. The purpose of the Journal is to document and disseminate the insights, lessons and innovations arising from various dimensions of forestry and rural livelihoods in Nepal. The Journal aims to inform and thereby impact the macro-level processes of academics, research, policy formulation, program planning, and decision-making affecting local-level forest resource management. It was conceived as, and indeed has become, a platform from which diverse actors in community forestry and natural resource management can bring diverse perspectives together in one place. As a result, the Journal has received increasing recognition at both national and international levels.
