Mr Paudyal has more than 15 years of experience in the field of research and development. By virtue of working with organizations like UNDP, UNCDF, Redd Barna Asia Regional Resource Group, GTZ and other I/NGOs he has gained experiences and professional competencies especially in decentralization, planning, monitoring and evaluation, institutional development, family health, child rights and child development, micro-credit and social mobilization in Nepal. He has worked at the very community level to the policy points in KAP, rights-based and action oriented research as well as contributed in local development, decentralization and good governance, livelihoods, poverty alleviation, social inclusion, planning, monitoring and evaluation, local development, youth empowerment, social mobilization, institutional development and capacity enhancement, post conflict corruption and post conflict rehabilitation. He has worked in UNDP as a Development Advisor of the local government to enhance the overall decentralization and good governance endeavour. As a Researcher and Team Leader he has led the multi-disciplinary team to study child rearing practice in Nepal which is published as "Bringing up Children in a Changing World: Who's right? Whose rights?" Similarly, as a Researcher, he has led an in-depth study of “Social Value system and the family planning amongst Yadav, Dusadha and Muslim of Siraha” funded by Primary Health Care Project (PHCP), GTZ. His major areas of interest, experience and contribution include rights-based research and development in the field of decentralization and good governance, local development, poverty alleviation and livelihoods, social inclusion, participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation. He has led and contributed in many project evaluation endeavours. He has developed and guided to implement more than a dozen of community development and awareness raising projects which are implemented and under implemented in Nepal. Currently, he is working as a Thematic Leader (Livelihoods) in Fostering Health and Livelihoods of Conflict Affected People in Nepal – an EU funded project.
